About One Medicine
Founded on the research, teaching, and leadership experiences of Dr. Peter Gasper, One Medicine offers a wide range of services for individuals and organizations working with animals. The term “One Medicine” alludes to universal and shared physiologic mechanisms responsible for health and/or disease in animals and humans. Sir William Osler coined it in the late 1800’s.
About Dr. Gasper
Dr. Gasper attained a DVM from The Ohio State University and a PhD in hematopathology from Colorado State University. He is a Diplomate of the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine. He held academic positions at Colorado State and the University of Maryland before serving as Chief of Comparative Medicine within the National Institute on Aging’s Intramural Research Program at the NIH. Most recently, Dr. Gasper served as Director of the Health Sciences Laboratory Animal Services at the University of Alberta, Canada.
